well...a lot has happen...kind of.
I got married in 2018, to my soulmate whom I never thought I'd meet. I did keto for awhile and lost the weight I needed to. the exercise is still happening...in spurts, along with my yoga app on my phone. by the time I get done with work, the last thing I want to do is workout; besides I get a good workout at work some days. then there is the other things that I need to attend to in my life; yardwork, work on my manuscript, make time for camping with my wife and pups.
anyway, I have maintained the weight I lost during keto and I do low carb now, sometimes no carb, it depends on the meal and mood. life is too short to give up everything you enjoy, everything in moderation and some physical activity. I don't eat fast food, nor do I eat much of junk food and rarely eat fried foods, aside from the occasional French fries at work and potato chips. I do good and eat healthy, and healthier than a lot of my friends. being a chef helps on that.

A Better ME
This is what I am striving for, to be better than I was here in 2009. I was fit and beginning to get the muscles and 6-pack abs as we all want, but think we can't have.
We can have and do anything we set our minds and bodies to, motivation and focus is key; then everything else will fall into place.

still at it
I am still working out and loving every minute of it, although this last week was a slow one, as I only worked out twice, but I will make it up this week.
I got me some new running/workout sneakers, ready to feel the burn.

Still at it...a little motivation
I am still at it, been a little over a month and I am still working out, and I feel great! Eating well too, though I could eat a little better, but...hey I am working out.
I can do this,
if you are having trouble getting started back up in working out, take it one day at time,
don't beat yourself up if you miss a day, just cause, start again tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day. You can do it, you will do it when you are completely, ultimately and utterly ready within! In the mean time, enjoy life and don't let it get you down.
Motivation goes a long way...

Back again.....here to stay this time..."I can do this"
Ok another setback, but we are allowed to have those, right? I hope so cause I've had quite a few of them. But here I am and I haven't given up. I started working out again about four weeks ago at my work fitness center after my shift in the evenings before I go home. I have been doing this on the days I work and taking my two days off from work as my rest days, or I use my free weights at home on my days off and do other workouts that require using the machines.
My eating habits have improved, but still need some tweeking, but baby steps, right. I do not eat any fast food, and try not to eat any or too much processed foods. I drink a lot of water, and I am started only drinking alcohol on my days off, not on the nights I come home from work. I usually do not drink any soda, but on occasion at work I will drink a half of an 8oz soda and usually do not finish it, and on occasion mix some with a liquor a home or when I go out to eat.
Motivation has been against me, but this time I will beat it and overcome my setbacks and gain it control once again.
Anyone can overcome an obstacle, and can gain motivation to do something they need to do, "I can do this" just repeat this to yourself over and over until you don't have to anymore. Having friends and family to support you and even workout with is a great help as well. They don't even have to be in the same state, just give each other praise and keep each other motivated via texts, email, facebook. Just to be healthy and live longer without illness and other ailments is a plus and more of a reason to workout, and/or eat healthy.

Back again, from a long break!
Hi, I am back again, after a long break! Been back in the gym for two weeks now, starting off slow, not over doing it, easing back into it. I am in it for different reasons than I was before, less superficial now, less for the look and more for the health of it. Yea, I want to get my muscle built back up, but in the long run its more for my health and to maintain a healthy weight; therefore, I am eating healthier too. I am omitting anything, really, although I have omitted fast food and nearly all processed foods. I've dropped a pant size since moving to the south, the goal is to at least drop one more pant size and gain muscle throughout.
I will try to do better and keep up on this journey with y'all, it's just tough being a chef and having such an hectic work schedule, but I am settling into a routine slowly, yet settling.

Another Setback...
Yet another setback as occurred in my fitness journey, but I am not deterred and not giving up. My life has become busier, a little more stress, and bit older too; therefore, I only need to find a another way, a new way that works for me. It may be slow and a little at a time, but if that's what it takes then that's what I need to do for now.
Since I've not worked out like I once have, I have changed my eating habits. I now lessened my portion size, cut out the fast food, the processed foods, and cut down on the alcohol intake. I get some workouts in, and walking the dog helps too, along with yard work. I've lost some unwanted weight this way as well, and staying healthy.
One day at a time, one workout at a time.
